Deep learning-powered multimodal imaging and theranostics – Special EKIK Educational Workshop held by Prof. Habib Zaidi

Prof. Habib Zaidi is a distinguished professor of Obuda University, Chief Physicist at Geneva University Hospital, and Head of the PET Instrumentation & Neuroimaging Laboratory, as well as a full professor at the University of Geneva with additional professorships in Groningen and Southern Denmark. Prof. Zaidi is an internationally acclaimed researcher recognized for his contributions to quantitative PET imaging, hybrid imaging instrumentation, computational modeling, and deep learning, with more than 385 peer-reviewed publications, major international grants and awards, and extensive editorial leadership.

Objectives:

  • Describe the principles, instrumentation, and clinical applications of multimodality medical imaging systems and theranostics
  • Describe the principles, basic tools, and need for artificial intelligence in medical imaging and theranostics
  • Understand the challenges associated with developing computational deep learning-powered models for medical imaging applications
  • Discuss the pros and cons of different strategies
  • Understand the limitations of current AI-powered models and outline potential future developments in the field

The workshop is aimed at master’s students, PhD students, and young researchers.
